Local shopping is focused around Billingshurst village centre, which plays host to a number of independent stores, supermarkets, restaurants and bars. The market town of Horsham, around eight miles away, offers a greater selection of shops, while Guildford, 19 miles away, is home to several shopping centres including The Friary and White Lion Walk.


Amblehurst Green is ideally situated for accessing both countryside and coast: the South Downs National Park is only a few minutes’ drive away, while the beaches of Worthing and Brighton lie just 16 and 25 miles to the south respectively. All offer a wealth of visitor attractions – from horseriding and hiking along country trails and bridleways, to watersports, seaside cafes and the fairground rides of Brighton Pier.

Sports fans are well catered for with football, cricket and tennis clubs based locally. A variety of fitness classes take place at Billingshurst Community and Conference Centre on Roman Way, while Billingshurst Leisure Centre on Station Road has a swimming pool, gym, exercise studio and sports hall. Both are around half a mile from the development.

The village also has several play areas for children, and Jubilee Fields, five minutes’ drive from Amblehurst Green, has a skate park, sports pitches and a fishing lake.


For families, there are several well-regarded schools nearby, including Billingshurst Primary School for younger children and The Weald Community School and Sixth Form for older students. Further and higher education providers include Central Sussex College, which has a campus at Crawley 17 miles away and a training centre at Horsham, less than 20 minutes’ drive from the development.


Major roads easily accessible from the development include the A272, the A24 and the A29. Billingshurst railway station lies half a mile away and can be reached in around 10 minutes on foot. From there trains run to Bognor Regis, Horsham, Gatwick Airport, Clapham Junction and London Victoria.
