Meet the
Williams family

kok体育能玩吗You saw a dream come true for the Williams family on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, as they became the owners of a brand new Bellway home.

We’re delighted to have provided this prize for the deserving Newcastle family, who are the founders of the charity Darcey’s Dream, and were nominated for a big surprise by their best friend Nikki Pinchen.

kok体育能玩吗Petra and Simon Williams are childhood sweethearts, and the proud parents of four children, Emelia-Paige, Layla-Grace, Darcey-Leigh and Bailey. Heartbreakingly, Darcey-Leigh, twin sister of Layla-Grace, passed away from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) when she was just nine weeks old.

The bereaved couple were offered some support to help them to deal with their unimaginable grief, but for Darcey-Leigh’s surviving siblings, there was barely any professional support available at all.

“Mummy, nobody cares about me and I miss Darcey too”

It was these devastating words from her eldest daughter Emelia that inspired Petra to create her charity, Darcey’s Dream. Darcey-Leigh’s final dream is that bereaved families and siblings don’t feel alone in the darkest and hardest days of their lives.

Petra is now entirely committed to her charity, and ensuring that other families that have experienced the devastating loss of a child receive the support that they need, with a focus on surviving siblings and twinless twins. From sibling memory boxes and counselling, to distraction therapy and family days out, the charity provides a range of support for entire families; Petra herself works around the clock to provide personal support whenever and wherever it is needed, and has attended hospital appointments, inquests, and just sat with parents and held their hand when they needed comfort.

Meanwhile, her husband Simon works long hours, six days a week, to provide for the family financially, and ensure that Petra can commit herself to the charity and her children.

With a brand new Bellway home to call their own, we hope that this special family can now look forward to a new chapter in their lives, with the freedom to spend more time on what really matters: Darcey’s Dream, and each other.

Congratulations on your beautiful new Bellway home, the Williams family!
